Many believers today think of spiritual warfare primarily as a battle against demons, territorial spirits, and breaking strongholds over people, families, or cities. But in 2 Corinthians 10, Paul describes something different. Though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. Our weapons have divine power to destroy strongholds: strongholds of arguments, lofty opinions, and thoughts raised against the knowledge of God. We are called to take every thought captive to obey Christ.
This morning we will lay the biblical foundation for understanding the real nature of the spiritual battle we face every day.
